If you’re on the fence about this then I absolutely encourage you to just go for it. Sam is a great instructor, he’s extremely knowledgeable but at the same time never tires or runs out of patience with learners. It was great to be with other like-minded participants and geek out about a topic we were all interested in. The course combined both rigging theory and on-hands experience, rigging 3 different highlines with bungees under a variety of conditions (rock anchors, A-frames, trees). Additionally, we got to practice the sport itself and each got personalized feedback from Sam for improving on the highline. The location is beautiful (just make absolutely sure to take a waterproof outer layer and sufficiently warm clothing as conditions can change quickly in the mountain) and it was fun to stay in the house with Raf who cooks very well. All in all it was a great adventure and left me with more confidence to practice this sport in the future.

From the very first message we exchanged, I could feel Sam’s sensitivity and attentiveness. For me, that matters in everything I do, and especially in an adventure sport that was completely new to me. He turned out to be even more thoughtful and supportive than I had hoped. Sam is patient, professional, and has a depth of knowledge that seems truly endless. I am pretty sure there were questions I asked more than five times, and every single time he answered with the same patience and a smile. Learning from someone who responds that way, every single time, makes all the difference. His genuine excitement for teaching, and for highlining itself, is contagious and inspiring. I arrived feeling completely clueless. I left with a real understanding of the sport, what each part of the rigging system does, and what it actually takes to set up and manage a highline safely. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to anyone who feels drawn to this world or is simply curious to explore it. It is a rare opportunity to learn from someone who is not only exceptionally skilled, but also deeply passionate about sharing what he knows.

This 6-day workshop is an absolute must! We covered a wide variety of rigging situations, including some challenging scenarios, and worked with 3-line setups of varying lengths and exposures. Sam provides incredible gear overviews, technical advice, demos, and practical tips. Beyond his in-depth technical expertise, Sam is a passionate, contagious instructor and an excellent coach who adapts perfectly to everyone’s situation, skill level, and expectations. To top it off, the location is superb and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend it!
